Cult Nails Love at First Sight

Hey everyone! It is going to be a rough week after having off all of last week, though I suppose I shouldn't complain. Sitting around doing nothing (but also shopping and eating a lot) was so nice. This weekend the BF and I celebrated our four year anniversary. I'm about to delve into a long story/rant and some anniversary details, so if you want to skip to the nails just scroll past!

He tried to surprise me with flowers, but sadly he fell victim to the evil that is 1-800-Flowers. DO NOT order from them. He apparently placed an order in advanced for Friday and then waited all day for me to tell him that I received flowers. At around 5:30 he asked me if I had gotten any deliveries, so then I knew about the surprise. The UPS truck didn't show up until around 7:45, 15 minutes before I was leaving the house to go to the BF's apartment. The flowers would have been beautiful, but as soon as I took them out of the box the heads were poppin' off left and right and most of the petals were damaged and bruised. I gave their customer service a call the next day and after over an hour on the phone (and being hung up on once by a very incompetent woman) I was able to get the BF a full refund. Of course I appreciated the gesture, it was so sweet! I just wish I could have warned him about 1-800-Flowers beforehand, since I've heard so many bad things about them. At the end of the day you are way better off placing an order with the local flower shop.

From a distance the bouquet looks pretty but you can see on the right what was happening to the flowers. I love the card BF gave me, all the buttons are so cute! And what is that I spy on the left that starts with a C...? Keep reading to find out!

On Saturday we to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and had such a great dinner. He had a ribeye and I had the barbecued shrimp. We also shared a side of creamed spinach. Everything was so delish. For dessert the waitress was so sweet and brought something out with a candle for our anniversary. I don't recall exactly what it was (it was a special that night) but I really enjoyed it. It kind of tasted like a chocolate mousse cheesecake. How bad can that be, right? BF ordered their apple crumb tart. Holy deliciousness you guys. Best apple dessert I've ever eaten. We were both so full we weren't even hungry the next day!

Oh and I just have to share the gift he got me. My first Chanel polish! He gave me the color Taboo and it is so freakin' beautiful. I will definitely be painting my nails with it later in the week.

Eeeeek I cannot wait to put this beauty on!

Alright, now finally on to today's mani! After what felt like a heat wave on Sunday (40 degrees) I was so ready for spring. Bring on the florals and pastels! After looking through my brighter shades, I decided to wear Cult Nails Love at First Sight. I would describe the color as a pink toned pastel purple. The formula was a dream, I only needed one coat for full opacity. Since I was in such a spring time mood I painted some purple flowers on my ring finger nail.

I hope everyone has a great week! I'll be back on Friday with that gorgeous Chanel ;)

xoxo,
   Brooke
