OPI Holiday 2015 Starlight Collection Swatch and Review

Hey everyone! So last week I found out that as part of the Preen.me VIP program I would be receiving six shades from the OPI Holiday 2015 Starlight Collection. Today's post will just be swatches, and later on I'll do some nail art looks in another post.

The full Starlight Collection features 18 shades that range from classic to cosmic. It includes everything from subtle shimmer to all-out sparkle!

Love is in My Cards - This is an easy two-coat red that is glossy even without a top coat. I honestly don't have too much to say about it because I think we've all seen a red like this before. If you have a good red in your collection already, you probably don't need to run out and get this one.

Next is Let Your Love Shine - Now THIS is my kind of red. Deep, glittery, sparkly perfection. And two coats! I love that this is a smooth and glossy glitter even without a top coat.

Comet Closer - I love this one! It may be my favorite from the bunch. This is a cool gold with almost a satiny finish. No top coat here, but you can still see how shiny it is.

Two Wrongs Don't Make a Meteorite - I'm really not sure how I feel about this glitter topper. It's kind of...weird? Probably not a glitter I would wear. I think the shapes are throwing me off.

Super Star Status - This one has that liquid sand texture, which I typically don't like, but this one I happen to be drawn to. I think it would be gorgeous over a silver foil polish! There's no top coat here and I would definitely recommend several coats of top coat if you're not into the texture thing.

Give Me Space - Oooooh ahhhhh. Okay, I think this is my favorite of the bunch (sorry Comet Closer!) This is a deep scattered blue holo, though the holo is a little difficult to see in the pictures. If you get just one polish from this collection, I definitely recommend this one. And as soon as you've got it on, stand out in the sun and prepare to be amazed.

The Starlight Collection is available now. You can check out the rest of the polishes here or for purchase at Ulta.com.

What do you guys think? Is there anything that caught your eye and you need to run out and get? Or is this collection a total miss for you? Let me know!

Julep Trina

Hey everyone! How was your weekend? Mine went by way too fast as usual.

I finally did some Halloween nails and it's making me feel super festive! The main color I used is Julep Trina, a deep eggplant shimmer. This shade is a stunner for sure and the formula is great. The orange on my chevron accent nail is Julep Marjorie. I used mini chevron vinyls from Vinyl It Up to get those clean crisp lines. Then for some extra fun I added orange rhinestones.

Hope you all have a great week! Check back mid-week for some OPI swatches :)

Julep Daria & Beatrix

Hey everyone! How was your week? I've been so busy I haven't had time to repaint my nails until today! Julep Anya held up super well though, barely any tip wear after about 4 days.

Today I went for Julep Daria with a black accent nail with Julep Beatrix layered on top. Daria is a dark grey creme that goes on in two easy coats. Perfect formula on this one, and it's so glossy! Beatrix is a clear base with coal black and multidimensional glitter. It kind of looks like space, I absolutely love it.

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm going to the hair salon on Saturday to get a lob (long bob) and I'm kind of terrified but also excited. Wish me luck!

Julep Anya

Happy Friday! I seriously don't understand how this could have been a four day week. It felt like a month! But it's Friday and I'm happily in my Chinese food coma after a long day and a long week.

Today I painted my nails with Julep Anya, a gorgeous ivy creme that applies beautifully in two coats. This color is a bit out of my comfort zone, I usually stick with reds, purples, and pinks, but I actually love it! I think the green is dark enough that I'm not like ew green. I used the Vinyl It Up mini chevron vinyls with Julep Sienna and the combo came out awesome.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Julep Sherri

Hey everyone! How was your long weekend? I went to an apple cider mill with my fam yesterday and we had some fresh cider with donuts. YUM. I love fall.

Today I used Julep Sherri from the October collection. Sherri is a purple stardust. If you're not familiar with the stardust polishes, they have kind of a gritty/sandy texture. I used two coats of top coat to try to get it smooth, but this polish eats up top coat! I've gotten used to the texture though and I don't really mind it. The color itself is super pretty and sparkly!

I may see what happens if I put a matte top coat over this later in the week. Not sure how that would work with the texture, but it could be cool!

Chanel Orage

Happy Friday! How was your week? I'm exhausted, so this three day weekend is exactly what I need.

I've added another Chanel polish to my collection for the fall and winter. The shade I picked up is Chanel Orage, a deep smoky blue that looks more like a soft black, although it's described as a grey blue. The first coat went on a little streaky, but it evened out perfectly after the second coat. It dried down to a gorgeous, glossy high shine. I tried to add a grey chevron with Julep Daria, but it's not quite light enough to stand out. Oh well! I also added some gold studs as an accent.

Anyone doing something exciting this weekend? I'm going with my family on Monday to an apple cider mill and I can't wait to get my hands on that fresh cider! Yum. Have a great weekend!

Julep Jocelyn & Autumn

Happy Mani Monday! Did you all have a good weekend? The weather on Sunday turned out to be gorgeous! We were expecting lots of rain but the skies were totally clear.

I received my October box from Julep last week and HAD to use Jocelyn. It is a cranberry shimmer with holographic microglitter. I actually was able to get by with one coat here. Such a gorgeous color for the upcoming months! And then I paired it with a glitter gradient using Julep Autumn and oh my goodness. Mind = blown. Autumn has beautiful burnt red-orange glitter and is just super pretty. This combination has me so in the mood for fall!

Hope you all have a good week!

MidWest Lacquer Dirty Red

Happy Friday! I can't believe I haven't posted in a whole week. It sucks being so busy! I haven't even painted my nails since last weekend, they've just been bare. Not gonna lie, I was kind of waiting for my MidWest Lacquer order and was so happy to find it in my mailbox today.

I'm super excited to show you MidWest Lacquer Dirty Red. This was a custom polish made for the MWCrew Facebook group. It is a deep red linear holo with red shimmer. Ummm hello this has my name all over it. I'll take red and shimmery any day. Oh and holo, of course.

The awesome design on my ring finger nail is from the aztec vinyl sheet from Vinyl It Up. Lizzie actually runs both Vinyl It Up and MidWest Lacquer (and everything she makes is amazing!)

Hope you all have a good weekend! Stay safe and dry!
