Happy Friday! How was your week? I finally got my rose gold iPhone 6s today! I set it up after I took my nail photos, so I'm excited to try out the camera for my next mani.
I took out an untried from my collection today, Zoya Sansa. I don't know how I never tried this polish until now! Sansa is a deep eggplant with gold metallic sparkle. I achieved full coverage in two thin coats. It was just a dream to apply. The accent nail is Zoya Margo. I thought it would be fun to do a creme accent nail, instead of a glitter one like I usually do.
Happy Mani Monday! How was your weekend? The BF and I went to see Black Mass and I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I slept through most of it. It's going up there on my list of the worst movies I've ever seen. So sad because it had a ton of potential! The acting was good, the issue was the movie itself and the way the story was told. Oh well.
So I finally did it. I pulled out the dark polish for fall and I'm so happy I did. I've been saving Zoya Neve for months! Neve is a sapphire blue shimmer that applies beautifully in two coats. I used my quatrefoil stencil from Vinyl It Up with Julep Goldie. Love love love this one!
Hope you all have a great start to your week! I'm gonna try to get out a little bit after work every day to enjoy this gorgeous weather.
Hey everyone! How was your week? We started our second grade study of seeds and the kids are loving it. We soaked lima beans for 24 hours and then they dissected them. You should have seen their amazed faces!
This weekend I'm wearing Julep Sera with a little bit of Julep Cameron on my middle and ring finger nails. Sera is a metallic, smokey grey purple and is totally mesmerizing! It catches the sunlight in just the right way that makes it sparkle like crazy. Definitely recommend this one! Plus it's a two coater.
Hey everyone! Hope you're having a good weekend. I'm posting Monday's mani a day early because I'll be spending tomorrow with my family for Rosh Hashanah. Shanah Tovah to everyone else celebrating!
I'm so exited about my nails. I'm using a new color from Julep that's actually named after the company (that's why the title of the post says Julep Julep). This color is gorgeous. I would describe it as a bright lavender. It goes on smooth and you could absolutely get complete coverage in one coat, but for this mani I used two. I used Queen Anne for two accent nails and I think the two colors complement each other beautifully.
Hey everyone! I feel like it's been so long since my last post. School has had me so busy that I've barely had time to even think about my nails. Teacher friends, what do you do? I want to make time for my nails but it seems impossible!
Anyway, it seems fitting that I received my imPRESS Manicure samples this week from BrandBacker. I found them in my mailbox after work today and thought they would be fun to try tonight. They sent me a set with red nails and heart charms and a set with nude matte nails and glitter accent nails. I decided to use the matte ones and followed the 6-step instructions. I selected the correct size nail for each finger, washed my hands, used the included prep pad, peeled off the backing on each nail, and aligned them with my cuticles. Then I just had to to press the nails on and I continued to apply pressure on and off for about a half hour.
I almost always would rather paint my nails myself, but I have to admit that press on nails can be a lot of fun. These are easy and quick to apply, they're safe on natural nails, and there's no dry time or mess. imPRESS claims that these last for up to one week and they're waterproof. I'll test the waterproof claim out, but I doubt I'll keep these on past the weekend. I get bored with the same mani after a couple days!
I will definitely say that these are comfortable. It doesn't feel like I'm wearing those cheapy hard plastic nails. There are over 40 colors, designs, and accent nails to choose from and you can find them at stores such as Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Rite Aid, etc. You can also check them out at imPRESSmanicure.com.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
xoxo,
Brooke

Hey everyone! So I got home from school yesterday and basically just plopped down on the couch, ordered myself a pizza from Domino's, and watched TV. I was SO exhausted! But I made it through the first few days of school and the kiddos are having fun so I'm happy.
I'm going to a wedding on Monday and since I won't really have time to do my nails closer to the day, I decided to paint them this morning. My dress has this kind of nude color under a black lace overlay, so I went with Marc Jacobs Gatsby. I would describe it as a metallic champagne pink. I will admit that it's a little tough to work with, the first coat is streaky and patchy. After the second coat and top coat it definitely evens out. I did a glitter gradient with Julep Jane for that extra sparkle.
Hey everyone! Mani Monday is coming on Tuesday this week. Things have just been so crazy with trying to get my classroom and everything else ready for the first day of school tomorrow. I'm so nervous! I don't think I'll be getting any sleep at all tonight.
I knew I wanted to do something fun with my nails for school so I went with red, my favorite color, and a cute little apple accent. Of course I had to incorporate a little bit of glitter. The red I used is CoverGirl XL Ample Apple (is that name not perfect?!) and the glitter is Julep Martina.
Well, wish me luck! I'll let you know how it goes at the end of the week. And good luck to all of you teachers out there who are starting this week or already started. You rock!
