Hey everyone! Hope you're having a great weekend so far. I wanted to quickly share some nail art I did for the US Open tomorrow. My family usually goes one day every year and we always enjoy it.
I decided to do a different design on each nail and I think they're really fun! I'll go through what's on each finger (my thumb is the same as my middle finger).
Index: I started with a base of Essie Butler Please. The blue represents the court color at Arthur Ashe Stadium. I then stamped on a grid pattern in black to look like the net. Lastly I put a dot of China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini for my tennis ball.
Middle: This design is super simple! I started with a white base of Butter London Cotton Buds and this helped China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini pop on top of it. Then all you need to do is add two white curved lines for your tennis ball.
Ring: I saw this design on Instagram and thought it was so clever! It's supposed to look like the video that's shown when a call is challenged. I started with one coat of Zoya Ness and then layered Essie Butler Please diagonally across the top. Once this dried I used Butter London Cotton Buds to make the white lines representing those on the court. Lastly I added a dot of Chanel Orage, but obviously you don't need to use a luxury nail polish haha. Any dark gray will do!
Pinky: I used a base of Essie Butler Please again and then basically followed the same steps as the middle finger design.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

Nails Inc. Self-care Sunday
Hey everyone! Hope you're having a great weekend. Hubby and I haven't really been home the last few weekends, so this weekend we needed to deep clean the apartment and do laundry. Not super fun, but it does feel nice to have a clean living space!
Did anyone else take advantage of the Sephora summer bonus event? I'm a VIB, so I get 15% off. Rouge gets 20% off for the sale. I generally don't shop at Sephora anymore because Ulta has way better deals/discounts plus their rewards program is much more appealing. That being said, Sephora still carries some brands I can't get at Ulta so when they do these bonus events I like to grab a few things. FYI, the sale ends August 27th so get your orders in soon.
This time around I mostly picked up a few skincare items and a nail polish I've had my eye on from Nails Inc. The color is called Self-care Sunday and it's from their Life Hack collection. Each polish from this collection retails for $11. Self-care Sunday is a porcelain creme with a fantastic formula. I used two coats here. I LOVE colors like this and if you don't have one like it in your collection I highly recommend this one. I had originally intended to add some gold glitter to this mani, but this color just looks so gorgeous on its own.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a great week!

Sunset Gradient Nails
Hey everyone! How was your weekend? We were in Montauk from Thursday to Sunday with the husband's family. We had pretty decent weather and enjoyed a couple of good beach days!
Being at the beach made me want to use some sunset colors, so I decided to do a gradient look. I recently picked up these wedge sponges from Ulta and they are perfect for creating gradients! I grabbed 3 OPI colors for this look and started with one coat of Tempura-ture is Rising! for the base. I then layered my colors on the sponge in this order:
Spare Me a French Quarter?
Cajun Shrimp
Tempura-ture is Rising!
I gently pressed the sponge onto my nail and repeated the step 3 times per nail. Unfortunately I ran out of my liquid latex, so I had a little polish to clean up after I was done. If you have liquid latex I would recommend putting some around each cuticle before you start sponging.
Hope you have a great week!

Shades of Pink Nails
Hey everyone! How was your weekend? The weather was so beautiful here so we took advantage of that by spending plenty of time outside. It looks like the great weather will continue all week, which we are very happy about since we'll be going to Montauk for a long weekend.
Today I pulled out three different Essie colors for my nails. I've been seeing a lot more looks where different shades in the same color family are being used and I think it looks so cute! Kind of like ombre nails but out of order. For today's mani I decided on three purple/pink polishes in the colors Baguette Me Not (thumb and ring fingers), Go Ginza (index and pinky fingers), and Splash of Grenadine (middle finger). I used two coats for each color.
Of course you can recreate this using any colors you like. Pinks and purples truly are some of my favorites, so I love these colors together.
Hope you have a great week!

Abstract Nail Art
Hey everyone! How was your weekend? We had beautiful weather and spent some time at the pool. I can't believe it's already August! I'm definitely starting to feel the itch for fall nail colors, but for now I'm still happy with summer brights.
I've been seeing the abstract nail art trend for a while on Instagram and always thought it looked super fun, so I decided to give it a try myself. I was recently gifted the Morgan Taylor Rocketman collection by Preen.Me and two colors in particular spoke to me. The first was a bright pink creme called Tickle My Keys and the second was a yellow creme called Glow Like A Star. Both apply beautifully and were opaque in two coats!
Doing an abstract nail is pretty simple. It can really be anything you want! I used a little of the pink and yellow and a just a little bit of white. I then used black and a dotting tool to make small dots over the white area. I was definitely skeptical of how it would turn out, but I really like it! I think there will definitely be more abstract nails in the future.
